Join us for the 2nd Annual Hudson Valley Ideas Festival, where a diverse community of entrepreneurs, artists, thought leaders, and writers converge to tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time. This year's lineup features notable voices including Atlantic writer Thomas Chatterton Williams, director and producer Cheryl Miller Houser, former presidential candidate Andrew Yang, digital creator and cultural commentator Jules Terpak, journalist and novelist Ross Barkan, and speaking coach Michael Hoeppner. Thomas Chatterton Williams is a cultural commentator, staff writer at The Atlantic, and the author of Self-Portrait in Black and White and Losing My Cool. Williams' essays exploring identity, culture, and race have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Harper’s and The Wall Street Journal.

Cheryl Miller Houser is a documentary filmmaker, public speaker and founder of the production company Creative Breed. She works with brands and leaders to tell stories that move people deeply and propel them to action, including the films Generation Startup and Truth to Transformation and commercials and web series featuring real people.

Andrew Yang is an entrepreneur, author, and former presidential candidate who gained national attention during the 2020 Democratic primaries for championing innovative solutions to economic inequality, including Universal Basic Income. He is the founder of Venture for America, Humanity Forward, and the Forward Party.

Jules Terpak is a journalist and digital creator known for her analysis of the intersection of technology, media, and society. Through in-depth interviews with figures like Mark Cuban, Noam Chomsky, and Jonathan Haidt, Terpak critically examines how digital platforms shape human behavior, relationships, and culture.

Ross Barkan is a journalist and author focused on New York politics and policy whose writing has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Jacobin, The Nation, and The Guardian. Barkan’s latest book, Glass Century, is an ambitious, expansive novel set in 1970s New York City slated for release in May.

Michael Chad Hoeppner is a communications expert, professor, and the founder of GK Training who has coached Fortune 500 executives, TED speakers, and political leaders in the art of public speaking. Hoeppner's approach combines classical and modern techniques to help leaders deliver messages with authenticity.
